Seelyville Indiana, originally called the "Woodsmills." Seelyville  was laid out by Mr. Moddisett, the owner of the land north of the Jonas Seely property. When the Terre Haute and Eastern Railroad was built along the south side of town, the small whistle stop station hired Jonas Seely as station master. The name was originally the Seely Station but was later changed to Seelyville Station.  

The Town of Seelyville and Seelyville Waterworks are defined less by boundaries on a map than by the sense of shared values our residents hold dear. Our basement flooded a few weeks ago. After spending 3 hours sucking up as much water as we could we called Serve Pro to come help. They came out at midnight and told us how good of a job we had done, got up the rest of the water and set up the fans and dehumidifier. They also were here frequently checking moisture levels. Then came the tear out and removal of carpet and drywall. Chet, Joe and Ricky did such a great job! Even though they were swamped with other customers and their storm damage they had a team in by mid-afternoon to begin working. They were thorough that day and in the days that followed.
