Water Mitigation Experts in Deerfield Beach

When your Deerfield Beach home experiences a flooding or leak, there is no time to waste as there are multiple stages of water damage that can escalate quickly. Water that is left to stand can be damaging to valuables or building materials. It also has the ability to create the perfect environment for mold growth.

Mitigation is possible at each stage, however, it takes experience and proper tools. SERVPRO of Deerfield Beach has the equipment and experience needed to assess damage, extract water, and begin the restoration process. Our crew acts quickly, thoroughly surveying all areas of your home as more than where the disaster happened may be affected.

We work quickly to get you and your home back to normal. Don't hesitate and give our SERVPRO of Deerfield Beach team a call today!

Water Damage Sources

Water damage can come from a variety of events, and the type of event can affect the way the situation is handled. For example, in the event of a sewage backup, SERVPRO of Deerfield Beach would bring in our usual equipment used to dry the structure, but we also treat that as a biohazard site and need to take proper precautions. Whereas, water loss from storm damage would not necessarily be treated as a biohazard event. In all situations, your SERVPRO team works to ensure we have not only dried out your structure, but we have found and fixed the source of the problem as well.

I have to say They did a great job! That's the end result, but how we got there is the real story. I get a call from my downstairs neighbor. Water coming thru her ceiling, went to the apt checked and I had water coming down from above. Got the water above turned off and put in a call to Servpro of South Palm Beach, now this is 5pm on a Saturday. Arrived in less than an hour and went straight to work, Isaac inspected and photographed the damage documenting all the issues. Meantime Jermaine is bringing water extractor, fans and dehumidifiers to the Apt and extracting the water in closets, halls, guest room and rest room. Isaac is using a IR camara to make sure he finds where any water damage may be less obvious. Next they (Isaac and Jermaine) start setting up equipment, Multiple fans in each area to dry out the carpet and more importantly the dry wall. They set them up so the fans blow on on multiple surfaces in each room and hall, and placed dehumidifiers in each area. They arrived by 6 and had the two apartments equipped by 9. Cut to Monday, Jona (supervisor) along with Isaac and Jermaine came to check on the progress, checked with the IR Camera and a moisture meter and went over every area to include ceilings walls baseboards and carpet. the explained the process again and would return on Wednesday. They returned Wednesday afternoon (Jona, Isaac and Jermaine) re checked with Meter and IR all good except for the bathroom ceiling. Collected the equipment from the other areas, re stretched the pulled up carpet and added extra fan to bathroom. They explained the process during each visit and kept me fully informed and would return Thursday. Thursday they came and collected the remaining equipment, and reinspected all areas with IR and the Moisture meter, to insure there was no remaining moisture. I cannot say enough good things about this group, Isaac with his skill and patience, explaining every thing about what water does, how it travels and why there so thorough in inspection, Jermaine installing equipment insuring its proper placement and checking for any hidden issues, and Jona explaining and inspecting all work , making sure everything that could be done would be. Last but not least is Alaina and the office staff, who kept informed on all administrative matters involving the flood. They all did a Fantastic job. Though not stated earlier, everyone showed compassion and empathy for our situation and tried to minimize the impact on us. You wont find a better group of people or Company than Servpro of South Palm Beach

This was the BEST EXPERIENCE I have EVER had with a construction issue on my house. It was an expensive procedure, but they exceeded my expectations!!! They were all SUPER polite, quick, efficient, and thorough. And they really seemed like they cared to make it better. Yuri, Alejandro and Tommy were all EXCELLENT in their own way. I manage a sales team so I understand and appreciate GREAT customer service. I have already recommended your service to two neighbors because I was blown away by the professionalism and excellence - AND they were smiling and courteous the whole time. It was a real pleasure. I was a little bit sorry to see them go. FANTASTIC, BEYOND WORDS!!! Well Done! They all deserve raises :)

OMG!!! My apartment is actually cleaner than it’s ever been! I am soooo impressed. I was in a panic when I saw mold on some of my clothing prior to their cleaning. Jack eased all my concerns and did exactly what he said he was going to do. He was incredibly thorough and kind through the whole process. I am so thankful and happy to have a fresh start in my apartment.

How to clean up water damage in a home?

When a water emergency occurs in your home or business, it’s only natural to want to take action immediately. Below are some preliminary steps you can take before we arrive, but only attempt what you can do safely.

  1. Shut off the water source, if possible. If you’re not sure where the water is coming from, we’ll inspect and handle the situation as soon as we arrive. If you don’t know how to shut off the water, contact a plumber to help.
  2. Remove excess water by mopping, blotting, or wiping. This could include flooring and hard-surface furniture with standing water on it. Do not use your household vacuum to remove water, since it could cause damage to the vacuum or be unsafe.
  3. Protect carpet, rugs, drapes, and upholstered items from further damage. Place aluminum foil or parchment paper between furniture and wet carpet or rugs. Remove books, magazines, or other colored items from carpets and rugs. Hang draperies up with coated hangers to avoid contact with wet floors. Remove pillows or cushions from wet upholstered items.
  4. Avoid using electric or electronic items that have come into contact with water. This may include items such as light fixtures, ceiling fans, televisions, or appliances. If there is a possibility that someone else on the property may turn on an electric item that has come in contact with water, consider turning off the power to individual circuits within the power distribution panel of the property.
What is the typical cost for water damage restoration?

The cost of a water loss will vary greatly depending on the severity of the situation.

What is water damage restoration?

When water intrudes into a home or business, water damage restoration may be required. Water damage restoration is the professional process of removing unwanted water, drying and cleaning the structure and/or contents, and returning the property to its pre-loss condition. This is completed by professional technicians who are certified to follow industry standards using the proper methods and tools.

Is it safe to stay in a flooded home?

It may not be safe to stay in a flooded home or business. If you come into contact with or ingest flood water, it can make you sick if the water is contaminated. Standing water inside a structure that was inhabited also poses an electrocution risk, as appliances and electrical outlets can continue to be live and energized.

How do you restore water damage?

We’ll inspect your home or business and discuss with you the severity of the damage and our plan for helping return your property to pre-loss condition. We’ll then work to remove the water that shouldn’t be there using pumps and water-extracting tools. Materials that cannot be restored may be removed. Once the excess water is gone, we use dehumidifiers and other specialized drying equipment to help return the area to pre-loss condition. The drying process is then continually monitored. We clean and deodorize restorable contents and areas of the structure that need attention. This handy guide explains our water damage restoration process in detail.

How long does it take to dry out water damage?

Drying out a structure depends on the severity of the water damage that occurred and the type of structure, with an average situation taking 3–5 days. This can vary greatly though, depending on the magnitude of damage, amount of contents affected, any demolition that may be required, and the presence of any hazardous materials.

Returning a home or business to its pre-loss moisture levels is a closely monitored process, with our professionals making adjustments to equipment to help ensure the area is recovering as quickly and safely as possible.

Who to call for water damage?

A local SERVPRO is nearby and available now to respond to your water damage emergency right away. Our technicians are on call 24/7 with emergency services available immediately. Call 1-800-SERVPRO to reach a local SERVPRO, or find a SERVPRO location directly with our locator tool.

Who to call for water damage in ceiling?

It can be alarming to see a bubble growing in your ceiling and on the verge of bursting. SERVPRO can assist with this startling emergency right away, by calling 1-800-SERVPRO. You can also reach a local SERVPRO directly with our locator tool.

If possible, locate the source of the leak. If it’s being caused by an internal plumbing water source, turn off the water to that area, if you’re comfortable doing so and it can be done safely.

Is water damage dangerous?

Water damage can be a serious situation. Water flowing through your home or business can carry with it any contaminants that it has come into contact with. Electrical hazards are common when water damage has occurred, so do not enter the area until it’s deemed safe.

Flood waters or contaminated water can also be a danger to anyone who comes into contact with it. It can be difficult to pinpoint what the water contains. It could have chemicals, dirt, or bacteria within it. Additionally, depending on the severity of the water event, structural damage to the property could occur. Water damage may also make the area ripe for mold and mildew, which presents a danger to any occupants, as well.

Is my insurance going to cover this water damage to my home?

Many homeowner insurance policies do provide some level of coverage in a water damage situation, but you will need to contact your agent for details about your policy. The source of the water damage is important when dealing with insurance. Some flooding related to weather events requires special insurance available through the National Flood Insurance Program. We make insurance claims easier, with fewer headaches for you. We handle the details and coordinate any paperwork, so you can focus on moving forward.

Many personal items were damaged by water. Can SERVPRO help?

When water damage occurs, it’s not just the structure of your home that’s affected, but your personal belongings, too. Your family furniture, clothing, keepsakes, and other items are sometimes damaged during a flood or water damage emergency.

SERVPRO specializes in restoring these special items with our Packout & Contents Restoration services, as many cannot be replaced. We’ll assess your content to determine what items can be successfully restored. We can use several different methods to accomplish this:

  • Dry cleaning – Used for light residue or to pre-clean prior to wet cleaning.
  • Wet cleaning – Effective at removing moderate to heavy soiling.
  • Spray and wipe – For items that can’t withstand wet cleaning.
  • Foam cleaning – Used for upholstery fabrics that might shrink or bleed if wet cleaned.
  • Abrasive cleaning – Involves agitation of the surface being cleaned.
  • Immersion cleaning – The item is dipped into a cleaning product bath.

Additionally, we have document restoration services that may be able to save your valuable documents, including photographs.
