This team I got worked very fast to gut the kitchen. They initially forgot to put down a tarp when they began removing drywall and cabinets, so that was the only little negative but after that they got all the mold. Even returned and addressed ALL my concerns twice with a smile, good attitude and gave some helpful info for my future reference (still no mold!). So I would use them again and refer anyone to Brennan, the manager. He gave me peace of mind which is priceless!

I cannot sing enough praises about ServPro of New Bern. From the first phone call until the service we had top notch care and response. I was devastated when we discovered that we had a mold issue in our home and reached out to ServPro due to their excellent reputation in our area. The response time from my initial call to getting Mark out to our home for air samples and to access the damage was two days. When he arrived he answered all of my questions and spent a great deal of time with me explaining his findings and what the process for remediation would be. After confirming with air samples and visual findings he let us know a quote would be on its way. After looking everything over we decided to move forward with treatment. I spoke to Demetrius and he answered all of my silly questions and helped the operation run so smoothly! He knew how concerned we were about the mold and got us on the schedule for the next day! Talk about customer service!! When the crew arrived they all greeted me with warm smiles and all looked so clean and professional! They would take photos of hard to reach areas of concern and were able to send them to me for my records. They were so informative and gave me so much insight into our project. Thankfully they were able to find the source of the mold which was linked to faulty issues with the HVAC tubing and piping in our attic. Every step of they way they were so patient and knowledgeable! I felt safe and confident in their abilities to get this treatment done right! I can’t thank Keegan W., Jordan S., Justin, and Trent enough for everything!! Tomorrow we will be having a full service HVAC cleaning and disinfecting by Jeff and John W., and I have nothing but confidence that they will be just as amazing as everyone I’ve worked with thus far! You guys are all so fantastic and I am so blessed to have found you all!! If I could give everyone more than five stars I would!! Highly recommend ServPro of New Bern for all of your remediation needs!!

Anita Boos

Team came out immediately for an emergency. Shout out to Justin for is quick response and following through the process! Very professional and courteous. Thank you all from Demetrius in the office to Justin and his team.

This review is for the mitigation/demo team of this branch. To preface this review, I am a Regional Property Manager of 650 units of affordable housing across 3 states. (Credibility for this review) I recently had a fire that affected 85% of a two bedroom townhome layout in New Bern, NC. Within hours, their crew was on site and getting to work on the demo and water mitigation. Within another 36 hours, all damaged material was removed and all moisture extracted. Not only this, the unit had NO smoke smell and actually smelt GOOD inside the unit because of how quickly these guys set up their machinery and got working(I also believe they had a machine that put a pleasant scent into the air which is was a nice touch). Additionally, there is absolutely ZERO moisture damage because of how quickly this crew worked. The compliments that we received from insurance on our quick actions just made this experience even better. Yes, Servpro might be higher on pricing as opposed to other companies, but this branch specifically showed why they’re worth every penny. I would guess we saved upwards of $20k just by extracting all of the fire departments water in such a quick fashion. Special mention to Mark, Fran, and Mason for all of their assistance with this. Those three are who have made this experience such a positive one. There was a small hiccup with billing but Fran and Mason had it handled within an hour of discovering it. This branch is great with communication and keeping all parties on the same page. I will be requesting that this branch handles any disasters that our complexes experience when possible.

My water heater overflowed so I needed water remediation. Mr. Clements and his associate were outstanding. Today Justin and Allen returned to retrieve dryer and haul away junk. The kindness and professionalism these two men displayed was outstanding. They are examples of outstanding customer service. I hope I don't need you again, but if I do this company will be called. It is of worthy note that I called them on Saturday. They came that afternoon and did not assess any extra fees. This company is recommended highly without hesitstion.

Emily Allen

Justin W and Allen did a great job. Came home from vacation to all my floor flooded and they came in immediately, got all my wet flooring, walls and anything else out of the house and out of the way. Very professional and set up quickly. Explained the process to us and just all around did a stellar job. If I ever need help again then they’re going to be my first call!!

On May 8th I had a flood in my home the adjuster came out and told me that everything had to be pulled up and replace due to the water damage that included every floor in my home my kitchen cabinets and my vanities Frances Welch and the Servpro of New Bern team were amazing and I am truly thankful I did not know where to begin or who to contact for any of my repairs this team was only hired initially to come out and do the drying out of my home and tearing up anything that was damaged but talking Justin Woolsey and Frances Welch they explained to me that they were in a full service business that handle everything from beginning to end and that is exactly what happened I love the communication it was never hard to reach anyone about any of my concerns and no matter who you spoke with they all were knowledgeable about the situation and always had an answer for me even if it was just reassurance that everything's going to be okay I love my home a wish I could give this team more than the five stars because they were amazing.

How to clean up water damage in a home?

When a water emergency occurs in your home or business, it’s only natural to want to take action immediately. Below are some preliminary steps you can take before we arrive, but only attempt what you can do safely.

  1. Shut off the water source, if possible. If you’re not sure where the water is coming from, we’ll inspect and handle the situation as soon as we arrive. If you don’t know how to shut off the water, contact a plumber to help.
  2. Remove excess water by mopping, blotting, or wiping. This could include flooring and hard-surface furniture with standing water on it. Do not use your household vacuum to remove water, since it could cause damage to the vacuum or be unsafe.
  3. Protect carpet, rugs, drapes, and upholstered items from further damage. Place aluminum foil or parchment paper between furniture and wet carpet or rugs. Remove books, magazines, or other colored items from carpets and rugs. Hang draperies up with coated hangers to avoid contact with wet floors. Remove pillows or cushions from wet upholstered items.
  4. Avoid using electric or electronic items that have come into contact with water. This may include items such as light fixtures, ceiling fans, televisions, or appliances. If there is a possibility that someone else on the property may turn on an electric item that has come in contact with water, consider turning off the power to individual circuits within the power distribution panel of the property.
What is the typical cost for water damage restoration?

The cost of a water loss will vary greatly depending on the severity of the situation.

What is water damage restoration?

When water intrudes into a home or business, water damage restoration may be required. Water damage restoration is the professional process of removing unwanted water, drying and cleaning the structure and/or contents, and returning the property to its pre-loss condition. This is completed by professional technicians who are certified to follow industry standards using the proper methods and tools.

Is it safe to stay in a flooded home?

It may not be safe to stay in a flooded home or business. If you come into contact with or ingest flood water, it can make you sick if the water is contaminated. Standing water inside a structure that was inhabited also poses an electrocution risk, as appliances and electrical outlets can continue to be live and energized.

How do you restore water damage?

We’ll inspect your home or business and discuss with you the severity of the damage and our plan for helping return your property to pre-loss condition. We’ll then work to remove the water that shouldn’t be there using pumps and water-extracting tools. Materials that cannot be restored may be removed. Once the excess water is gone, we use dehumidifiers and other specialized drying equipment to help return the area to pre-loss condition. The drying process is then continually monitored. We clean and deodorize restorable contents and areas of the structure that need attention. This handy guide explains our water damage restoration process in detail.

How long does it take to dry out water damage?

Drying out a structure depends on the severity of the water damage that occurred and the type of structure, with an average situation taking 3–5 days. This can vary greatly though, depending on the magnitude of damage, amount of contents affected, any demolition that may be required, and the presence of any hazardous materials.

Returning a home or business to its pre-loss moisture levels is a closely monitored process, with our professionals making adjustments to equipment to help ensure the area is recovering as quickly and safely as possible.

Who to call for water damage?

A local SERVPRO is nearby and available now to respond to your water damage emergency right away. Our technicians are on call 24/7 with emergency services available immediately. Call 1-800-SERVPRO to reach a local SERVPRO, or find a SERVPRO location directly with our locator tool.

Who to call for water damage in ceiling?

It can be alarming to see a bubble growing in your ceiling and on the verge of bursting. SERVPRO can assist with this startling emergency right away, by calling 1-800-SERVPRO. You can also reach a local SERVPRO directly with our locator tool.

If possible, locate the source of the leak. If it’s being caused by an internal plumbing water source, turn off the water to that area, if you’re comfortable doing so and it can be done safely.

Is water damage dangerous?

Water damage can be a serious situation. Water flowing through your home or business can carry with it any contaminants that it has come into contact with. Electrical hazards are common when water damage has occurred, so do not enter the area until it’s deemed safe.

Flood waters or contaminated water can also be a danger to anyone who comes into contact with it. It can be difficult to pinpoint what the water contains. It could have chemicals, dirt, or bacteria within it. Additionally, depending on the severity of the water event, structural damage to the property could occur. Water damage may also make the area ripe for mold and mildew, which presents a danger to any occupants, as well.

Is my insurance going to cover this water damage to my home?

Many homeowner insurance policies do provide some level of coverage in a water damage situation, but you will need to contact your agent for details about your policy. The source of the water damage is important when dealing with insurance. Some flooding related to weather events requires special insurance available through the National Flood Insurance Program. We make insurance claims easier, with fewer headaches for you. We handle the details and coordinate any paperwork, so you can focus on moving forward.

Many personal items were damaged by water. Can SERVPRO help?

When water damage occurs, it’s not just the structure of your home that’s affected, but your personal belongings, too. Your family furniture, clothing, keepsakes, and other items are sometimes damaged during a flood or water damage emergency.

SERVPRO specializes in restoring these special items with our Packout & Contents Restoration services, as many cannot be replaced. We’ll assess your content to determine what items can be successfully restored. We can use several different methods to accomplish this:

  • Dry cleaning – Used for light residue or to pre-clean prior to wet cleaning.

  • Spray and wipe – For items that can’t withstand wet cleaning.
  • Foam cleaning – Used for upholstery fabrics that might shrink or bleed if wet cleaned.
  • Abrasive cleaning – Involves agitation of the surface being cleaned.
  • Immersion cleaning – The item is dipped into a cleaning product bath.

Additionally, we have document restoration services that may be able to save your valuable documents, including photographs.
