Newport Water,  Smoke ,and Fire Damage

Newport has a rich history involving the Great Indian Warpath, the American Revolution, the Flatboat period when flatboats plied the rivers, the Civil War, the introduction of railroads that replaced the flatboats, the logging boom that brought dams and sawmills, and the Moonshine and Prohibition Periods. Moonshine continued to be produced in the area until the 1960s. Newport offers access to the Smoky Mountains, river rafting, and many other outdoor activities.

The Cooke County Chamber of Commerce meets monthly at various locations. September's meeting is planned for September 18th from 8:00 – 9:00 am at the Historic Tanner School, located at 115 Mulberry Street in Newport. October's meeting is being held at the exact location on October 16th, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am.

Residents and visitors will enjoy the Newport Harvest Street Festival. The festival has been running for 38 years and takes place on the first weekend in October. Enjoy arts and crafts, regional cuisine, beauty pageants, historic demonstrations, rides, and games. There are also hundreds of vendors, live entertainment, and family-friendly attractions, including Kiddie Land.

The Hard Times Street Rod Club is highly popular among owners of various classic cars. The club meets each month on the first Monday and hosts periodic member cruises. There is also an annual Christmas Dinner and Gift Exchange.

Smoke damage from chronic smoking inside your home leaves smoke residues on the walls, furniture, and carpeting. A small fire can also introduce residues and odors throughout the entire house, even if they are extinguished before any significant damage occurs from the fire. Water introduced by the firemen causes further damage, especially if it is not quickly removed. Water damages consist of stains on surfaces, swelling of wood products as water is slowly absorbed, and even mold can begin to appear in as little as twenty-four hours.

SERVPRO® can be on-site within four hours of your call and take immediate action to mitigate the damage from lingering water. We focus on completing repairs and restoration activities to return your home to its original condition.

What our
Newport customers are saying

We were in need of a clean-up crew with experience and the fortitude to get the job completed correctly and that is exactly what we received. Wes came on-site very quickly and provided a very detailed quote. The crew was a little behind schedule on moving on-site, but they were worth the wait. I can't say enough good about Jason the crew chief for the job. He was very respectful and communicated very well through the cleanup process. It allowed me to ask questions and provide coordination with what we needed to feel satisfied with the job. His crew of John and Adam were great, as they worked dilgently to complete the work. Overall, this was a good experience with ServPro of Sevier County and would hire them again for any future issues were their expertise was need.

I would like to personally comment on the superb service that the owners themselves over seen. They sent in cleaning crews to to finish up a jobsite in Seymour. We worked with Weston and he was absolutely wonderful. He was always on spot and very thorough and knowledgeable. His crew was also great. Jason was very knowledgeable and did a great job supervising and worked hard to do the job right. Adam, John, and Tim were very helpful and willing to work hard to get the job done. This awful situation was made better by having this hardworking crew to take care of it all. I am so satisfied and please with the job they did on removing all the wet and cleaning up. They were very neat and always cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely recommend this crew at servpro.

I got a water backup at the basement of our cabin on Sunday June 28. I called Servpro and they came right away. Production manager Wes T and Jaxon and his crew did cleanup, drying and other mitigation stage work in the short period of time. After that Josh W and his crew did great job in reconstruction of our basement. It was excellent with good quality. Thanks everyone who've been involved in this project!

ServPro is the go-to company for our water damage cleanup and repair at Jefferson County Schools. I was so impressed with their rep, Bekkah Sims, who contacted me about a recent flood at Jefferson County High School before I even knew about it. She had their crew out there on the scene immediately. They took pictures, cleaned up the water, put out fans and dryers and assessed the damage of the gym floor. Thanks so much Bekkah and the ServPro team!
